2GIG GoControl – Disable Loud Arming Sound (Q97)

Why the Panel Beeps Loudly When Arming

The 2GIG GoControl can emit a loud acknowledgment tone (or a 3-second external siren burst if attached) when arming. This behavior is tied to UL supervision settings. When the commercial UL option is enabled in monitoring settings, the panel sounds an audible indicator after a successful arming signal is sent to the monitoring station to meet UL requirements.

Important: If a customer prefers not to hear this tone, you can toggle it locally using Q97 in System Configuration. This setting cannot be changed remotely via Partner Portal or MobileTech, but you can view the current Q97 value in the Remote Toolkit.

Enable or Disable the Arming Sound (Q97)

  1. From the home screen, tap SecurityMenuToolbox.
  2. Enter the installer code, then tap Installer ToolboxSystem Configuration.
  3. Tap Go To, then enter 97 to open Q97: Select sound on normal closing acknowledgement (0 to 1).
  4. Choose [0] to disable or [1] to enable.
  5. Tap End → review settings → Save ChangesExit. The system will reboot to apply changes.
