2GIG GoControl panel emits loud noise when arming
print icon

The loud sound emitted by a 2GIG GoControl panel (or the siren sound for three seconds, if an external siren is attached) when arming is due to UL supervision settings. When the commercial UL option is selected in the customer's monitoring settings, the panel emits an audible indicator of acknowledgment when an arming signal is successfully transmitted to the monitoring station. This allows the panel to meet UL requirements.

If a customer does not want this to occur, the setting can be disabled in Q97 locally at the panel in system programming.

Note: This setting cannot be adjusted remotely using the Partner Portal or MobileTech app, but the current value for Q97 can be viewed in the Remote Toolkit.

For more information about UL requirements, see What UL Standards can the 2GIG GoControl meet?

To enable or disable the arming sound at the panel:

  1. Go to the home screen.
  2. Tap Security.
  3. Tap Menu.
  4. Tap Toolbox.
  5. Enter the installer code.
  6. Tap Installer Toolbox.
  7. Tap System Configuration.
  8. Tap Go to, then tap [97] to go to Q97: Select sound on normal closing acknowledgement (0 to 1).
  9. Tap either [0] to disable or [1] to enable.
  10. Tap End
  11. Verify the settings, then tap to select Save Changes.
  12. Tap Exit. The system reboots to save the changes.
