Clear a severe weather alert from a 2GIG GoControl
print icon

Severe weather alerts to the panel notify customers of incoming dangerous weather. The alerts only come in for tornado, fire, or tsunami warnings. When an alert comes in, there will be a series of audible beeps and a message on the panel.

For more information on severe weather alerts, see Severe Weather Alerts.

Note: Alerts are not sent for thunderstorms due to how common they are in the summer months. Hurricanes are not included since these have a large forecast window.

When a Severe Weather Alert is issued, the 2GIG GoControl panel beeps three times per minute and send an emergency message to the panel. The panel’s home screen will indicate that there is an un-read emergency message in the customer’s message center. The message center will have an emergency alert message with the nature and expiration time of the weather as specified by the National Weather Service.
