How do multiple partitions work with the Qolsys IQ Panel 2?

Compatibility 

  • On panel firmware version below 2.3.0, the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 supports one partition. 
  • On panel firmware version 2.3.0+, the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 supports up to four partitions.

Remotely enable/disable partitions  

Partitions can be remotely enabled and disabled using the Partner Portal and MobileTech app.

To enable/disable partitions using the Partner Portal:  
  1. Log into the Partner Portal. 
  2. Find the customer account. 
  3. Click Remote Toolkit
  4. In the Command Catalog, click to expand General
  5. Click Partitions
  6. Using the New Value dropdown menu, select to Enable or Disable partitions. 
  7. Click Change
To enable/disable partitions using the MobileTech app:  
  1. Log into the MobileTech app. 
  2. Find the customer account. 
  3. Tap Remote Toolkit
  4. Tap Command Catalog.
  5. Tap to expand General
  6. Tap Partitions
  7. Using the New Value dropdown menu, select Enable or Disable partitions. 
  8. Tap Change

Remotely program devices to a partition 

Security devices on the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 can be remotely programmed to a partition using Partner Portal or MobileTech app. 

To program devices to a partition using the Partner Portal:  
  1. Log into the Partner Portal. 
  2. Find the customer account. 
  3. Click Equipment
  4. Click Sensors
  5. To configure an existing device: 
    1. In the Sensor List, click Change for the sensor to configure. 
    2. Using the Choose an action dropdown menu, click to select Change Sensor Partition
    3. Using the New Partition dropdown menu, select the desired partition number 1-4. 
    4. Click Send Command
  6. To add a new sensor:
    1. In Sensor Management, click Add A Sensor
    2. Enter all of the sensor information, including the selection of the partition number. 
    3. Click Add Sensor to program the new sensor into the panel. 
To program devices to a partition using the MobileTech app:  
  1. Log into the MobileTech app
  2. Find the customer account. 
  3. Tap Equipment
  4. Tap Sensors
  5. Tap to expand Sensor Actions
  6. To configure an existing device: 
    1. Tap Advanced Sensor Settings
    2. Tap Change Partition.
    3. Using the Partition dropdown menu for the sensor, select the desired partition number 1-4. 
    4. Tap Save Changes
  7. To add a new sensor:
    1. Tap Add a Sensor
    2. Enter all of the sensor information, including the selection of the partition number. 
    3. Tap Add Sensor to program the new sensor into the panel. 

Update partition names

The partition names can be updated using the Partner Portal, MobileTech app, or Customer Website. For more information about editing the partition names from the Customer Website, see Change the name of a system partition

To update partition names using the Partner Portal:  
  1. Log into the Partner Portal. 
  2. Find the customer account. 
  3. Click Remote Toolkit
  4. In the Command Catalog, click to expand Sensors
  5. Click Change Partition Names
  6. In the Partition Name column, enter the desired name for each partition. 
  7. Click Send Command
To update partition names using the MobileTech app: 
  1. Log into the MobileTech app. 
  2. Find the customer account. 
  3. Tap Remote Toolkit
  4. Tap Command Catalog.
  5. Tap to expand Sensors
  6. Tap Change Partition Names
  7. In the Partition Name column, enter the desired name for each partition. 
  8. Tap Send Command
