IQ Remote (Secondary Keypad) for the Qolsys IQ Panel 2

The IQ Remote is the secondary touchscreen keypad designed for the Qolsys IQ Panel 2. It communicates with the main panel over a secure Wi-Fi network and provides an easy way to arm/disarm and control your system from additional locations in the home or business.

IQ Remote vs. IQ2 (Important Difference)

  • IQ Remote → for Qolsys IQ Panel 2.
  • IQ2 (older accessory) → for the first-generation IQ Panel.
  • Not interchangeable: IQ2 cannot be used with IQ Panel 2, and IQ Remote cannot be used with the first-generation IQ Panel.

Requirements

  • Secure Wi-Fi connection: The IQ Remote communicates with the IQ Panel 2 over secure Wi-Fi.
  • Firmware: IQ Panel 2 firmware 2.1.0+ is required for full compatibility and Alarm.com integration.
    • The IQ Remote can enroll on firmware 2.0.3, but 2.1.0+ is required for the built-in panel camera and panel motion detector to appear in the equipment list.
    • The IQ Remote itself does not appear as a peripheral device in the equipment list.
  • Original power supplies: Use the factory power adapters included with both the IQ Panel 2 and the IQ Remote to ensure proper charging and reliability.

Install & Enroll (At a Glance)

Follow the manufacturer’s installation guide for full steps. Typical flow:

  1. Power the IQ Remote with its original power supply and connect it to the same secure Wi-Fi network as the IQ Panel 2.
  2. On the main panel, open Settings → Advanced Settings (installer/master code) and follow on-screen prompts to pair the IQ Remote.
  3. Confirm basic functions (arm/disarm, status) and allow a few minutes for full synchronization.

Notes & Tips

  • Keep the IQ Remote and IQ Panel 2 on the same, stable Wi-Fi for best performance.
  • If camera or motion entries aren’t listed, verify the panel is on firmware 2.1.0+.
  • If Wi-Fi credentials change, update both the main panel and the IQ Remote.
