Qolsys IQ Panel 2 — Doorbell Camera Notifications to Panel
Receive on-screen alerts on your Qolsys IQ Panel 2 when your doorbell camera detects motion or someone presses the button. You can optionally enable live video pop-ups on the panel screen.
Requirements
- Service package: Must include at least one supported doorbell camera.
- Panel firmware:
- ADC-VDB770 requires IQ Panel 2 firmware 2.5.3+.
- SkyBell (ADC-VDB101/102/105/106/105x/106x) requires firmware 2.2.1+.
- Wi-Fi: The panel and the doorbell must be on the exact same SSID and band (2.4 GHz). Target signal strength: 90–100%. Router must support multicast broadcasts.
- Not supported on IQ Remote: Doorbell notifications do not display on IQ Remote keypads.
- Supported doorbells: SkyBell models listed above (latest firmware) or Alarm.com Video Doorbell ADC-VDB770 (latest firmware).
Enable Doorbell Notifications (Customer Website)
- Log in to the Customer Website.
- Go to Video → Settings.
- Select the doorbell in Video Device, then open Video Device Info.
- Enable Send motion notifications to panel and/or Send button pushed notifications to panel.
- Click Save.
Enable Live View on Notification (Optional)
To show an Answer option on the panel notification, turn on Stream Video to Security Panel Screen for the doorbell in the Customer Website (Video settings). Without streaming enabled, only Dismiss will appear.
What You’ll See
- The panel plays a notification sound per its local volume settings.
- On-screen banner shows either a Motion event or a Button Press event.
- If streaming is enabled for the doorbell, you’ll see Answer (live view) or Dismiss.
Troubleshooting
Notifications Not Displaying
- Confirm all Requirements above are met (firmware, same SSID/band, multicast capable router).
- Re-save notification settings in the Customer Website, then test.
- Verify both panel and doorbell are on the same 2.4 GHz SSID (no client isolation).
- Run a Dual-Path/System Check on the panel to confirm communications.
Try These Steps
- Toggle Stream to Panel off, then back on.
- Upgrade the panel to the latest firmware supported.
- Power cycle: panel (remove AC, wait), router/AP (unplug 2 minutes), then power router/AP → panel.
Router Settings (Advanced)
- Enable Multicast Packet Forwarding/Filtering (naming varies by brand).
- Disable Wi-Fi Client Isolation (sometimes enabled by default on APs).
- If multicast isn’t available on the router, replace it with a model that supports multicast.
Notes
- Doorbell notifications require strong Wi-Fi (aim for 90–100% on both devices).
- IQ Remote does not receive doorbell notifications (panel only).
