How to Enable Motion Wake on the Alarm.com Smart Thermostat (ADC-T3000)

The Alarm.com Smart Thermostat (ADC-T3000) includes a motion sensor that allows the screen to automatically wake when nearby movement is detected. This feature enhances convenience by ensuring the display is always visible when someone approaches.

Note: Motion-detected wake is only available when the thermostat is AC powered.


Enable or Disable Motion Wake Using the Customer Website

Customers can manage the motion wake feature through their Alarm.com online account:

  1. Log into the Customer Website.
  2. In the Thermostats card, click the Settings icon.
  3. Click Advanced Configuration.
  4. Select User.
  5. Under Motion Sensor, click Enabled or Disabled.
  6. Click Save.

Note: This option will not appear if thermostat configuration is not enabled for the customer.


Enable or Disable Motion Wake Locally on the ADC-T3000

If preferred, the setting can be changed directly on the thermostat:

  1. Press the thermostat's Menu button.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select User.
  4. Select Motion.
  5. Choose ON or OFF.
