Smart Thermostat Battery Replacement Guide
The Alarm.com Smart Thermostat (ADC-T3000) operates on two AAA Alkaline batteries. Proper battery maintenance ensures consistent thermostat performance and prevents HVAC issues.
Key Considerations
- If no batteries are installed and the thermostat is running only on AC power, it will still display a low battery warning.
- Always replace batteries as soon as the thermostat indicates LOW BATTERY.
- Extremely low batteries cause the buttons to flash amber without screen illumination—replace immediately.
- Replace batteries at least once a year to prevent leakage and corrosion.
- For vacation or unoccupied homes, replace batteries before leaving.
- Always use new alkaline batteries for replacements.
Steps to Replace Batteries
- Verify correct polarity orientation for batteries on the thermostat housing.
- Remove the thermostat from the wall plate by gently pulling it straight outward.
- Take out the old batteries.
- Insert two new AAA alkaline batteries following the marked polarity.
- Reattach the thermostat body by pressing it firmly back into the wall plate.
Important: Make sure the thermostat pins are correctly aligned with the back plate before pressing back in. Misalignment may damage the thermostat.
