Stream Live Video to a Qolsys IQ Panel 2

Alarm.com customers with a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 can view live streams from compatible Alarm.com video cameras directly on the panel screen (and on the IQ Remote, with supported firmware).

Feature requirements

Service package

  • An Alarm.com service package that supports at least one video device.
  • Two-way audio for non-doorbell cameras requires the package option: Audio for Non-doorbell Cameras.

Panel hardware & firmware

  • 2.5.3+ required for ADC-VDB770.
  • 2.2.1+ required for all other video devices.
  • IQ Panel 2 must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your router/AP.
    For doorbells, the Doorbell Camera and the IQ Panel 2 must use the same SSID and band (e.g., 2.4 GHz).
  • Live video streaming is also supported on the IQ Remote with panel firmware 2.4.0+

Video camera(s)

  • At least one compatible Alarm.com camera on the latest firmware and added to the customer’s Alarm.com account. See Compatible cameras.

Wi-Fi/network

  • Verify minimum network requirements for each device.

  • 1080p Indoor Wi-Fi Camera (ADC-V515)
  • Indoor Fixed with IR (ADC-V521IR) — two-way audio requires firmware IP8137-ALAM-0100d1+

Note: For SkyBell doorbells, the Doorbell Camera and IQ Panel 2 must be on the same Wi-Fi network.

Set up live stream

Pre-setup checklist

  • Confirm service package, hardware, and firmware meet the requirements.
    For general video features, see Live video streaming.

Verify the panel’s Wi-Fi connection (Dual-Path test)

  1. Swipe down on the IQ Panel 2 home screen to open the menu.
  2. Tap Settings > Advanced Settings and enter the dealer/installer code.
  3. Tap System Tests > Dual-Path Test > Start.

If the test fails, confirm the panel is connected to active Wi-Fi.

Verify camera connectivity

  • Test the camera in Partner Portal or MobileTech, or
  • Open the Customer Website/app and confirm you can view the live stream.

Enable “Stream Video to Security Panel Screen”

From the Customer Website

  1. Log in to the Customer Website.
  2. Go to Video > Settings > Stream Video to Security Panel Screen.
  3. Under View at the Panel, select each camera you want to allow on the IQ Panel 2.
  4. Click Save. Allow a few minutes for settings to sync. You may need to power-cycle the panel.

From the Customer app

  1. Log in to the Customer app.
  2. Tap Security System.
  3. Tap Stream Video to Panel.
  4. Enable desired cameras and Save. Allow a few minutes for syncing; power-cycle the panel if needed.

View the live stream on the panel

  1. Swipe left on the IQ Panel 2 home screen to the Live Video Cameras page.
  2. Select a camera and tap the play icon to view the stream.
  3. To end the stream, tap the stop/close icon.

Arming behavior: If the panel is armed while streaming, the screen exits video and returns to the arming screen. Z-Wave and other panel commands continue without interrupting the stream.

Two-way audio (where supported)

  • Hold the mic icon to talk through the camera.
  • Use the on-screen volume slider to adjust audio from the camera.
  • Tap the end icon to close the stream.

Doorbell & Z-Wave controls from live video

  • Disarm from the live view: Tap the system status (Arm Stay/Away/Disarmed) > Disarm > enter user code.
  • Lock control: If Z-Wave locks are installed, tap the lock control to Unlock or Lock.

Troubleshooting

Can’t see a list of cameras on the panel

  1. Confirm cameras are authorized for panel streaming in the Customer Website (Video > Settings > Stream Video to Security Panel Screen).
  2. Verify each camera is connected to Wi-Fi with internet access.
  3. Power-cycle the panel.
  4. Run a Dual-Path test to confirm panel Wi-Fi.
  5. Un-authorize then re-authorize cameras for panel viewing, saving after each step.
  6. Update the panel to the latest firmware. See Upgrade the firmware on a Qolsys IQ Panel 2.
  7. Update camera firmware. See Update the firmware of a video device.

Panel shows “Video device not responding”

  1. Verify the camera is communicating with Alarm.com (test in Partner Portal/MobileTech and view in the Customer Website/app). If the app/website can’t stream, the camera isn’t online.
  2. Power-cycle the camera and router; confirm the location’s internet is working. 
  3. Power-cycle the panel and verify panel Wi-Fi connectivity (Dual-Path test).
  4. Try the live view again. If issues persist, contact True Protection or Alarm.com CORE Technical Support.
