How to Install and Connect the ADC-V522IR Indoor Camera

The ADC-V522IR Indoor Fixed Camera with IR can connect to the Internet using Ethernet or Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz). This guide covers pre-installation requirements, setup modes, LED indicators, and troubleshooting tips to help you get started quickly.

Pre-Installation Checklist

  • ADC-V522IR camera and AC power adapter (included)
  • Broadband Internet (Cable, DSL, or Fiber Optic)
  • Computer, tablet, or smartphone with Wi-Fi
  • Alarm.com account login and password

Connection Methods

The camera supports three setup methods:

  1. Ethernet Mode
  2. Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) Mode
  3. Access Point (AP) Mode

Note: When powered on, allow at least two minutes before pressing any buttons. On first boot, the camera will enter AP mode automatically (flashing white LED).

AP Mode Setup

  1. Plug in the AC adapter and wait 2 minutes.
  2. Hold the WPS button until the LED flashes white (~6 seconds).
  3. On a mobile device, connect to the Wi-Fi network ALARM(XX:XX:XX).
  4. Open a browser and go to 192.168.1.1.
  5. Select your Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and click Save.
  6. Wait for the LED to turn solid green to confirm connection.
  7. Add the camera to your Alarm.com account via alarm.com/addcamera, the Customer app, or the MobileTech app.

WPS Mode Setup

  1. Plug in the AC adapter and wait 2 minutes.
  2. Hold the WPS button until the LED flashes blue (~3 seconds).
  3. Activate WPS on your router. The LED turns solid green when connected.
  4. Add the device to your Alarm.com account.

Ethernet Mode Setup

  1. Connect the camera to your router with an Ethernet cable.
  2. Plug in the AC adapter and wait for the LED to turn solid green.
  3. If connection fails, try another router port, power cycle, or use AP/WPS setup.
  4. Add the device to your Alarm.com account.

LED Reference Guide

LED Color Status Description
Solid green Connected Internet and local network active
Blinking green Local only Local network without Internet
No light No network No connection
Blinking red Booting Camera starting up
Flashing blue WPS Mode Ready for WPS setup
Flashing white AP Mode Ready for Access Point setup
Flashing green/red Factory Reset Restoring default settings

Factory Reset

  1. Press and hold the WPS button for ~15 seconds until the LED flashes green and red.
  2. Release the button to reboot with factory defaults.
  3. Remove the device from your Alarm.com account before reinstalling.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Power cycle by unplugging for 1 minute and reconnecting.
  • If Wi-Fi fails, retry AP or WPS setup, or use Ethernet temporarily.
  • Visit the contact True Protection for assistance.
