Qolsys IQ Panel 2 – Visual Verification (VV)
What is Visual Verification?
Visual Verification (VV) allows the monitoring station to receive image captures during an alarm activation. On the Qolsys IQ Panel 2, the following can be used for VV:
- Alarm.com Image Sensors
- Alarm.com video devices
- Panel camera (IQ Panel 2 on-board camera)
- PowerG PIR cameras
Note: For PowerG PIR specifics, see your PowerG PIR camera documentation or contact True Protection Support.
Enable Visual Verification
- Verify service package: Ensure Images – Plus and Visual Verification During Alarms are selected on the account. Contact True Protection Support to update if needed.
- Verify monitoring settings: Ensure Video and Image Sensor Verification are enabled in Monitoring Settings. Contact True Protection Support to update if needed.
- Allow alarm image uploads: In the Customer Website, enable alarm image uploads for the panel camera and any PowerG PIR cameras.
- Test VV: Arm the system, trigger a supervised alarm (e.g., open an entry/exit during away), and confirm images arrive at the central station.
Tip: If images don’t appear at the monitoring station during testing, run a quick communication test and confirm the panel is online (see Wi-Fi setup).
Privacy & Best Practices
- Notify users that alarm images may be captured and transmitted to monitoring during an alarm.
- Aim cameras away from areas requiring high privacy expectations (bathrooms, etc.).
- Verify time, date, and panel firmware before VV testing to prevent mismatched event logs.
