2GIG EDGE – Configure On-Board Camera (Q304) & Photo Capture

Overview

Question 304 (Q304) in System Configuration controls the on-board camera used for panel features like snapshots and face recognition. You can configure this at the panel, or your security company can configure it via the Partner Portal or MobileTech.

Heads-up: For image captures (e.g., disarm images), firmware and service prerequisites apply. See Photo Capture Settings below.

Enable or Disable the On-Board Camera (Q304)

  1. From the home screen, enter the installer code.
  2. Tap Installer ToolboxPanel ProgrammingAdvanced ProgrammingPanel Configuration.
  3. Tap Go Question and enter 304 (On-Board Camera).
  4. Select:
    • Enabled – turns on the on-board camera for panel features (snapshots, face recognition).
    • Disabled – turns off the on-board camera; camera-dependent features are unavailable.
  5. Tap Save/Exit to apply and leave programming.

Set Up Photo Capture Settings

  • Firmware 1.1+: Disarm images can be captured when the service package includes Images and the event is enabled at the panel.
  • Upload limits: The number of captured/uploaded events depends on the customer’s service package. To verify availability, call True Protection @ 888-793-0079.
  • Alarm events: Even if enabled locally, Alarm images are not captured at this time.
  1. On the home screen, enter the installer or master code.
  2. Tap On-Board CameraPhoto Capture Settings.
  3. Toggle the events you want to capture (e.g., Disarming events).
  4. On firmware 1.2+, check Upload captured images to Cloud to send photos to Alarm.com.
  5. Tap Save/Exit.

Note: Secondary keypads (2GIG-EDG-RK) can also be configured locally to upload images using the same steps.
