2GIG EDGE – Face Recognition Setup & Disarming

About Face Recognition on EDGE

The 2GIG EDGE uses its built-in camera to recognize faces for disarming and activating personalized control features. Each user can enroll their face locally at the panel.

Requirement: The on-board camera must be enabled first.

Enable Face Recognition for a User

  1. From the home screen, enter the installer or master code.
  2. Tap Users → select the user to edit.
  3. Enable the Facial Recognition toggle.
  4. Scroll through the Biometric Information Privacy Policy and Consent → tap Agree.
  5. Tap Begin → follow on-screen prompts to slightly move head for capture.
  6. Toggle Face Recognition Modes (Arming / Disarming) → Next.
  7. Review summary → edit if needed → Save and exit programming.
  8. Optional: Capture an avatar image for the user profile.

Note: System Access via Face Recognition is available only to the Master User.

Using Face Recognition to Disarm

  1. When armed, tap Disarm.
  2. Align your face in the camera frame, moving slightly side-to-side as prompted.
  3. If recognition fails (“Face Not Recognized”), the Enter Code screen appears. Enter your 4–6 digit disarming code.

Important: Face Recognition does not detect Duress. In a duress situation, use the keypad and duress code instead of facial recognition.
