2GIG EDGE – Add User Codes (Face Recognition & Bluetooth)
Local vs. Remote
User codes can be added locally on the EDGE panel or remotely via Alarm.com. For remote steps, see Add user codes remotely in your account portal.
Important: If a user code is tied to Bluetooth or Facial Recognition, change that code locally at the panel to preserve associations. (Master code is exempt.)
Add a User Locally
- From the home screen, enter the installer or master code.
- Tap Users → Add User.
- Enter the user’s name → Next.
- Enter a unique code → Next → re-enter to confirm → Next.
- Note: If the code is already in use, the panel prompts for a different code.
- Smart Areas (if enabled): Toggle partitions for this user → Next.
- Facial Recognition (optional):
- Appears if the on-board camera is enabled. Tap Next to enroll or Skip.
- Scroll to read the Biometric Information Privacy Policy and Consent → Agree.
- Follow on-screen prompts to capture the user’s face profile; optionally capture an avatar image.
- Enable desired modes (Arming, Disarming) → Next.
- Bluetooth Disarming (optional):
- Tap Next → the panel scans for nearby devices.
- If not listed, make the device discoverable and tap Rescan.
- Select the device → Pair Device on the panel → approve on the phone → OK.
- The user is created. Tap Done, or Add another user to repeat.
Notes & Tips
- On-board Camera (Q304): Must be Enabled to enroll face profiles.
- Bluetooth Disarming: After arming away, the panel waits 5 minutes before a paired device can disarm.
- Unique Codes: Every user must have a unique code; duplicates are rejected.
- Biometric Consent: Each user must agree to the Biometric Information Privacy Policy and Consent before enrolling Face Recognition.
