Z-Wave locks use encrypted communication over Z-Wave, meaning their communication is completely secure. With this added security, the lock and the controller must use additional Z-Wave commands to enroll and communicate. With each additional command sent, the probability of a communication breakdown increases.

Important:Do not add or delete user codes locally to or from the lock. Only use the Alarm.com web interface for user code management. 

To mitigate the chances of an enrollment failure for locks, complete the following during installation. 

To enroll a Yale Assure Touchscreen Deadbolt (YRD256) into a Z-Wave network:

1. Begin with the lock within six feet of the panel or module.
2. Place the panel into Add Mode.
3. Enter the master code, followed by a press of the gear button [⚙].
4. Press [7], followed by the gear button [⚙].
5. Press [1], followed by the gear button [⚙].
6. Wait two minutes before locally operating the device.
7. Verify that the lock appears on the Alarm.com website and responds to lock/unlock commands.
8. Move the lock to its final location and send a Network Rediscovery command using the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.

To delete a Yale Assure Touchscreen Deadbolt (YRD256) from a Z-Wave network:

1. Place the panel into Delete Mode.
2. Enter the master code, followed by a press of the gear button [⚙].
3. Press [7], followed by the gear button [⚙].
4. Press [3], followed by the gear button [⚙].
5. Send a Network Rediscovery command using the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.
