Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller Setup & Integration

Install and connect your Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller to your Wi-Fi network and integrate it with Alarm.com for smart irrigation management. Follow these steps to get started and control your watering directly from the Alarm.com app.

Getting Started

Before adding your Rachio Controller to an Alarm.com account, install the hardware, connect it to Wi-Fi, and configure schedules and zones using the Rachio app. For installation help, visit the official Rachio Support Center.

Compatible Models: All generations of Rachio Smart Controllers

Add Rachio to an Alarm.com Account

  • Log into the Partner Portal.
  • Locate the customer account.
  • Click Service PackageChange Service Package.
  • Under Energy Management & Automation, enable Irrigation Control.
  • Click Save Changes.
  • Log in to the Alarm.com Customer App.
  • On the Irrigation card, tap Connect to Account.
  • Enter the customer’s Rachio credentials and tap Allow Access.
  • Wait for the controller to load — the app will refresh automatically once connected.

Using Rachio in the Alarm.com App

The Rachio controller can be managed directly through the Alarm.com mobile app. The Irrigation card displays current status, watering history, and modes such as Rain Delay or Standby.

  • Set Standby or Rain Delay modes.
  • Start watering individual zones or full schedules.
  • View the last time each zone was watered.

Note: Irrigation control is available only in the Alarm.com app, not the web portal.

Tips for Use

  • Tap Stop Watering before editing any schedule or zone.
  • To water unscheduled zones, tap Water All Zones and deselect zones as desired.
  • Use the Rachio app to name schedules descriptively for easy reference in Alarm.com.
  • If using both Rachio and Rain Bird systems, add Rachio first.
  • Zone names can be changed via the Devices page on the Customer Website.

How to Delete a Rachio Device

  • Log into the Partner Portal.
  • Locate the customer account.
  • Click EquipmentRachio.
  • Click Log Out of Rachio Account to remove the integration.
