How to Enroll or Delete a Kwikset Convert Smart Lock from a Z-Wave Network
Z-Wave locks communicate using encrypted signals, ensuring maximum security. Because of the extra Z-Wave commands needed for encryption, enrollment may occasionally fail if the process isn’t followed carefully.
Important Notes
- Do not add or delete user codes locally on the lock.
- Keep the lock within 6 feet of the panel during enrollment for best results.
Enroll the Kwikset Convert Smart Lock
- Ensure the lock is within six feet of the panel or Z-Wave module.
- Place the panel into Add Mode.
- On the lock’s interior, press the [A] button once. The red LED will illuminate, indicating the lock is in Add Mode.
- Wait two minutes before attempting to operate the lock locally.
- Verify the lock appears on the Alarm.com website and responds to lock/unlock commands.
- Move the lock to its permanent location and run a Network Rediscovery using the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.
Delete the Kwikset Convert Smart Lock
- Place the panel into Delete Mode.
- On the lock’s interior, press the [A] button once. The red LED will illuminate, indicating the lock is in Delete Mode.
- Run a Network Rediscovery using the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.
