How to Enroll or Delete a Kwikset Convert Smart Lock from a Z-Wave Network

Z-Wave locks communicate using encrypted signals, ensuring maximum security. Because of the extra Z-Wave commands needed for encryption, enrollment may occasionally fail if the process isn’t followed carefully.


Important Notes

  • Do not add or delete user codes locally on the lock.
  • Keep the lock within 6 feet of the panel during enrollment for best results.

Enroll the Kwikset Convert Smart Lock

  1. Ensure the lock is within six feet of the panel or Z-Wave module.
  2. Place the panel into Add Mode.
  3. On the lock’s interior, press the [A] button once. The red LED will illuminate, indicating the lock is in Add Mode.
  4. Wait two minutes before attempting to operate the lock locally.
  5. Verify the lock appears on the Alarm.com website and responds to lock/unlock commands.
  6. Move the lock to its permanent location and run a Network Rediscovery using the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.

Delete the Kwikset Convert Smart Lock

  1. Place the panel into Delete Mode.
  2. On the lock’s interior, press the [A] button once. The red LED will illuminate, indicating the lock is in Delete Mode.
  3. Run a Network Rediscovery using the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.
