Compatibility

On panel firmware version below 3.2, the 2GIG GC3 supports one partition.

On panel firmware version 3.2+, the 2GIG GC3 supports up to four partitions. Partitions are also referred to as Smart Areas on the 2GIG GC3.

Note: To upgrade to 3.2.0, the panel firmware version must be 3.1.3+. For more information about updating the panel firmware, see Can 2GIG GC3 firmware be upgraded locally? or Remotely upgrade panel firmware.

Enable Smart Area partitions

On panel firmware version 3.2+, partitions can be enabled in Q69 (Smart Areas) of the 2GIG GC3 system configurations or using the Remote Toolkit on the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.

Programming zones, keyfobs, and keypads are not restricted and all devices can be assigned to any of the four Smart Areas. If Q69 is disabled, any devices (i.e., zone, keyfob, keypad) assigned to Smart Area 2-4 are inactive and do not report alarms or other events until Q69 is enabled.

Note: Q69 is disabled by default.
