ADC-VDB770: Configure Wedge Type for Optimal Motion Detection
The ADC-VDB770 video doorbell comes with angled wedge mounting brackets to help optimize its Video Analytics motion detection. Each wedge type slightly changes the camera’s angle for better coverage of doorways, porches, and approach paths.
Why Wedge Type Matters
The wedge type determines the vertical or horizontal tilt of the camera, which directly impacts the accuracy of motion detection. By configuring the wedge type in the Customer Website or app, the camera can better classify motion events and reduce false alerts.
Adjust Wedge Type Using the Customer Website
- Log into the Customer Website.
- Click Video.
- Click Settings.
- From the Video Device dropdown, select your ADC-VDB770.
- Click Video Device Info.
- Locate the Wedge Type dropdown menu.
- Select the mounting bracket type (check the letter printed on the back of the wedge).
- Click Save.
Adjust Wedge Type Using the Customer App
- Log into the Customer app.
- Tap the menu icon, then Doorbell Camera.
- Tap the settings icon.
- Find the Wedge Type dropdown menu.
- Select the mounting bracket type (match the letter on the back of the wedge).
- Tap Save (or confirm) to apply changes.
Tips for Best Results
- Match the wedge type setting with the physical wedge used during installation.
- Test motion detection after saving the setting — adjust angle or wedge type if detection is too sensitive or missing events.
- When in doubt, start with the default wedge and adjust only if the camera is tilted too far up, down, or sideways.

FAQs
Where do I find the wedge type?
Each mounting wedge has a letter printed on the back that corresponds to its type. Use this letter when selecting the wedge type in the app or website.
What if I select the wrong wedge type?
The camera may still function, but motion detection accuracy could decrease. Always confirm that the wedge type matches the actual bracket installed.
