ADC-VDB770 Video Doorbell: Installation Overview & LED Guide

The ADC-VDB770 is Alarm.com’s advanced video doorbell with two-way audio, video analytics, and wide-angle coverage. This overview provides the essential installation flow, post-installation checks, and a quick-reference LED status guide.

Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Run a speed test (minimum 2.5 Mbps upload speed required)
  • Test existing chime for proper functionality
  • Verify voltage and power (16–30V AC, 10 VA)
  • Turn off electricity to the transformer

Installation Steps

  1. Install the power module
  2. Install the mounting bracket and backplate
  3. Attach the video doorbell
  4. Turn electricity back on to the transformer
  5. Connect the doorbell to the Wi-Fi network
  6. Enroll the doorbell to the customer’s Alarm.com account

Post-Installation Setup

  • Test live video stream and Two-Way Audio
  • Configure chime type and verify chime functionality
  • Select and confirm the mounting bracket (wedge type)
  • Test interaction with other devices from the call screen
  • Create and test:
    • Doorbell Call recording rule
    • Doorbell Call notification
    • Video Analytics recording rule + notifications

ADC-VDB770 LED Status Guide

LED Pattern Description
Off Power off
Solid red No local or Internet connection
Blinking red Power on, camera booting
Solid green Connected to Alarm.com
Blinking green Local network connection
Double-blinking blue Unable to ring indoor chime (learn more)
Blinking blue WPS mode (press & hold 30–45s)
Blinking white Wi-Fi Access Point mode (press & hold 45–60s)
Blinking yellow Camera power cycling (press & hold 60–75s)
Alternating red & green Factory reset (press & hold >75s)

Note: If the indoor chime is enabled, pressing the button triggers a chime. To avoid this, disable the chime in the Customer Website before initiating any LED modes.
