ADC-VDB770 Doorbell Camera — Install, Enrollment & Setup

The ADC-VDB770 requires the included power module for every installation. Follow the steps below to wire, enroll, and configure the doorbell camera with True Protection.

Before You Begin

  • Verify chime & button work: Ring the existing doorbell to confirm the circuit functions properly.
  • Internet upload speed: Ensure at least 2.5 Mbps upload at the install location.
  • Transformer requirements: AC 16–30V AC, 10–30VA; DC 15–30V DC, 8W minimum. Always install the included power module.

Enroll the ADC-VDB770

Using the Customer App

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com Customer app.
  2. Tap + Add Device → Video Camera.
  3. Enter the MAC address.
  4. Follow on-screen instructions to complete enrollment.

Using the Customer Website

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com Customer website.
  2. Go to Settings → Manage Devices → Add Device → Video Camera.
  3. Click Install on the device or enter the MAC address.
  4. Follow the prompts to finish enrollment.

After Enrollment

Set the Chime Type

  • Website: Video → Settings → Video Device → Video Device Info → Chime Type → Save
  • App: Doorbell Camera → Settings → Chime Type → Save

Select the Mounting Wedge

Choose the wedge type that matches the letter printed on the bracket. Save the setting via the website or app under Video Device Info → Wedge Type.

Create a Recording or Analytics Rule

  • Person detection: Notify when a person is identified within a configured Ground Zone.
  • Z-Wave lights automation: Turn on lights when a person is detected.
  • Touchless Doorbell: Automatically ring when a guest enters a secondary Ground Zone.
