SkyBell Doorbell Camera: Mounting Brackets & Recommended Height
All SkyBell Doorbell Camera models include a wall mounting bracket in the box to simplify installation. Most homes place the doorbell button at approximately 48 inches (4 ft) from the ground, though some installations may be higher or lower based on doorway design and visibility needs.
What’s Included
- Model-specific mounting bracket
- Mounting hardware (screws/anchors)
- Quick start or install guide (varies by model)
Mounting Height Guidance
The industry-standard height is about 48 inches to optimize button reach, camera framing, and motion detection. If your trim, siding, or door glass requires a different height, adjust so the camera has a clear, unobstructed view of approaching visitors.
Angle & Wedge Options
If your existing wiring or trim forces a side view or points the camera too far upward/downward, use a 15° Wedge Mount plate (and other accessories) to aim the lens toward the approach path. Wedge kits and accessories are available for purchase in the Partner Portal.
Model Notes
- SkyBell HD Wi-Fi Doorbell Camera — Standard bracket included; wedge kits available.
- Slim Line Wi-Fi Doorbell Camera — Slim bracket for tight vertical trim; wedge kits available.
Installation Tips
- Test fit the bracket first to confirm wire reach and pilot-hole placement.
- Aim for a level mount; use a wedge plate if the entry is offset or recessed.
- Verify chime and transformer specs before finalizing (see related power requirements guides).
