Alarm.com has noticed an issue with a small percentage of Slim Line Wi-Fi Doorbell Cameras (ADC-VDB105/106) failing to reconnect wirelessly following a firmware update. Enrolling the Slim Line Wi-Fi Doorbell Camera manually can help resolve the behavior.
Before attempting a manual Wi-Fi connection, verify that all relevant steps in SkyBell Doorbell Camera installation stops and fails at 10 percent are completed.
Attempt to collect the following information
- Any changes to the router's default configuration. Specifically:
- Default Gateway
- Subnet Mask
- LAN IP Range
- The customer's Internet Service Provider.
- The model of the wireless router being used.
- The current firmware version of the wireless router.
To manually sync to an AT&T U-Verse network (Pace 5268AC Router/Gateway):
- Follow the steps to install the doorbell camera until it prompts you to select the customer network. For more information about installation steps for the SkyBell Doorbell Camera, see SkyBell Doorbell Camera (ADC-VDB101/102/105/106/105x/106x) - Installation Guide.
- Tap the Wi-Fi network (SSID) for their AT&T gateway. This SSID will likely begin with ATT.
Note: The customer/installer does not need to tap My Network is not Listed.
- Tap the Manual option at the top of the screen
- Carefully enter the Wi-Fi password.
- For most installations, enter the information exactly as shown below for all remaining fields.
Important: If the default router/gateway settings have been modified, the values of these fields must be updated to be compatible with those changes. For more information about finding the updated values, see Finding network information.
- Tap Join/Next.
