SkyBell Doorbell Camera Flashing Orange LED – Troubleshooting Guide
A flashing orange LED on the SkyBell Doorbell Camera indicates that the device is not connected to the Wi-Fi network. This is usually caused by incorrect wireless information or poor Wi-Fi range.
Steps to Troubleshoot a Flashing Orange LED
1. Reboot the SkyBell Doorbell Camera
Unmount the camera, disconnect power for two minutes, and remount. Allow several minutes for the device to reconnect. If it continues flashing orange, move on to the next step.
2. Put the Camera into AP (Access Point) Mode
Press and hold the SkyBell button until the LED alternates red and green. This places the device into AP mode so you can reconnect it using the setup wizard in the Customer app.
3. Re-Enroll the SkyBell in the Customer App
- Log into the Customer app.
- Tap Doorbell Camera.
- Select Add Camera.
- Follow the on-screen installation wizard to reconnect.
If you already have a SkyBell enrolled, tap the settings icon, then Add Camera to enroll another.
4. Verify Wi-Fi Credentials
Check the Wi-Fi password by logging in with another device (phone, tablet, etc.). Incorrect credentials are one of the most common causes of a flashing orange LED. For stronger connections, ensure your router is within range or consider a Wi-Fi extender or camera upgrade.
5. Perform a Factory Reset (Last Resort)
Press and hold the SkyBell button for approximately 80 seconds until the LED flashes yellow. This will reset all settings. You’ll then need to re-enroll the camera through the Customer app.
