How to Reconnect a SkyBell Doorbell Camera to Wi-Fi
If you’ve upgraded your router or changed your Wi-Fi network name or password, your SkyBell Doorbell Camera will need to be reconnected. With the correct service package, this can be done quickly using the Customer app or MobileTech app, without deleting or factory resetting the camera.
Reconnect Using the Customer App
Important: Double-check that your Wi-Fi name and password are correct. If your network is hidden, temporarily unhide it during setup.
- Put the SkyBell Doorbell into Access Point (AP) mode by pressing and holding the main button until the LED alternates green and red.
- Log into the Customer app on your mobile device.
- Tap Doorbell Camera from the menu.
- Tap Add Camera.
- In Select Video Device, choose the SkyBell camera you are reconnecting.
- Proceed through the on-screen installation wizard as if it were a new setup.
Note: If the Add Camera option does not appear, you may have reached the maximum number of video devices allowed for your service plan. In this case, remove one camera from your account before proceeding.
Reconnect Using the MobileTech App
Important: Confirm that Wi-Fi credentials are correct and temporarily unhide hidden networks if necessary.
- Log into the MobileTech app.
- Search for and open the customer’s account.
- Tap Equipment > Video Devices.
- Select Add Video Device.
- Under SkyBell Doorbell Camera, tap Install SkyBell Doorbell.
- Choose Log In As User To Mobile App.
- In Select Video Device, tap the SkyBell camera being reconnected.
- Follow the installation wizard until the LED turns solid green.
Troubleshooting
- If setup stops and fails at 10%, restart the process and verify Wi-Fi credentials.
- Ensure the SkyBell is within range of your router or Wi-Fi extender.
- If issues persist, power cycle the router and SkyBell, then retry setup.
