ADC-V515 Indoor Wi-Fi Camera: Pre-Installation & Setup Guide

The ADC-V515 is a compact indoor Wi-Fi camera designed for reliable video streaming and security monitoring through the Alarm.com platform. This guide covers the pre-installation checklist, setup methods, and troubleshooting tips.

Pre-Installation Checklist

  • ADC-V515 camera (included)
  • AC power adapter (included)
  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi broadband internet (Cable, DSL, or Fiber)
  • An Alarm.com account with video service package
  • Computer, tablet, or smartphone (required if router does not support WPS)

Note: Use WPS mode if the router supports it. If not, Access Point (AP) mode is the most reliable connection method.

Installation & Wi-Fi Setup

Option 1: Access Point (AP) Mode

  1. Plug in the camera’s AC power adapter to a non-switched outlet.
  2. Wait for the LED to blink white. If not blinking, hold Reset for ~6 seconds until it does.
  3. On your device, connect to Wi-Fi network ADC-V515 (XX:XX:XX) (last six digits = camera MAC address).
  4. Open a browser and enter http://v515install.
  5. Follow on-screen instructions to join the Wi-Fi. LED turns solid green when complete.
  6. Proceed to Add the Device to an Account.

Option 2: WPS Mode

  1. Plug in the camera’s AC power adapter.
  2. Hold Reset until LED blinks blue (~3 seconds).
  3. Activate WPS on the router. The camera will connect automatically.
  4. LED turns solid green when connection is complete.

Add the Device to an Account

Using the Customer Website

  1. Go to www.alarm.com/addcamera.
  2. Log in with your Alarm.com account credentials.
  3. Select the camera from the list or enter its MAC address (found on device or packaging).
  4. Follow on-screen instructions to complete setup.

Using the Mobile App

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com Mobile App.
  2. Tap Add DeviceVideo CameraADC-V515.
  3. Follow the installation wizard to complete setup.

You can now power down, mount the camera using the included bracket and screws, and manage settings from the Customer Website.

Status Light Guide

LED Pattern Description
Off Power off
Solid green Connected to Alarm.com
Blinking green Local network connection
Blinking green & red Reverting to factory defaults
Blinking red Power on, booting
Solid red No local or Internet connection
Blinking blue WPS mode
Blinking white AP mode

Troubleshooting

  • Cannot connect: Power cycle the camera and retry setup.
  • Persistent issues: Hold Reset ~15 seconds until LED blinks green & red to restore factory defaults.
  • Previously added to another account: Remove from the old Alarm.com account before reinstalling.
